Don’t stress about the production values, though. We care more about the quality of your story than your video editing skills. Remember, you can submit as many unique Creations as you like and can even submit Stylist and Builder Creations.

How to Submit:

1. After capturing your story in video format (three minutes or less), upload it to YouTube.

3. Fill in the form appropriately and click Submit Creation upon completion. You’re finished!

GET READY FOR THE SIMS SPARK’D SHOW!

Spark your imagination—episode one premieres tonight!

The Sims™ was created to empower people to play with life. It has become a place where people from all walks of life come to express themselves and experiment with new ideas. Today, it’s time to give players the chance to share their stories and creativity with the world in a reality competition where the only limit to what they can become... is their own imagination.

This is The Sims Spark’d.

What Is The Sims Spark’d?
For years, storytellers from around the globe have been telling millions of stories in The Sims, inspired by their own lives and limitless creativity. Now, we’ve called together some of the most creative players to compete in a first-of-its-kind reality competition series: The Sims Spark’d.

Over the course of four weeks, twelve contestants will vie for the $100,000 prize. To impress the judges, they’ll take on timed challenges to build characters, worlds, and stories. These Simmers need to survive both the Skills Challenge and the Elimination Challenge each week to move further into the competition and closer to the prize. With themes ranging from “supernatural” to “unconventional build,” they’ll be judged on skill and creativity.

You’ll probably recognize some of the participants! Each of the twelve Simmers is well-known in the Sims community for specializing in different elements of Sims gameplay, whether they’re an expert Stylist, Builder, or Storyteller. And you likely know our judges as well—keep an eye out for SimGuruNinja!

The Sims Spark’d episode 1 premieres on July 17 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on TBS, but you can also watch the full first episode on BuzzFeed Multiplayer on July 20 at 8:00 a.m.! Catch new episodes every Friday night on TBS until the finale on August 7, or wait to watch on BuzzFeed Multiplayer on Monday mornings!

What Are Spark’d Challenges?
We’re also thrilled to be launching new community challenges inspired by The Sims Spark’d. Unleash your own creativity and show off your skills by participating in Spark’d Challenges*!

Each Spark'd Challenge introduces a unique theme, with three ways to participate. Whether you specialize in building, styling, or storytelling in The Sims, simply share your Creations for a chance to be spotlighted on the Spark’d Challenges website. Your fellow players can also admire all of the submitted Creations in the new Spark’d Gallery in-game and vote on their favorites to select Top Spark’d Creators. NIFTY NEWS AHEAD: THE SIMS 4 NIFTY KNITTING IS ALMOST HERE!

It’s a knit-to-know kind of thing, and you need(le) to know.

Waaaaay back in November, our Dev team announced a new Community Voted Stuff Pack was just getting underway, and now, after months of work on it, we’re thrilled to be able to announce the release date for it: The Sims™ 4 Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack* will be launching on July 28 for Mac/PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation®4!

Get Knitty With It

All your Sims need for their new hobby is a yarn basket. Sims start with knitting socks and beanies, but as they grow more skilled, they can tackle more interesting challenges like sweaters, baby onesies, toys for kids, and even mailbox cozies. Why? You mean, why not. Once you’re skilled enough, you can share the joy of knitting with other Sims, too. Just sit down together and start teaching them to knit, or give them the gift of a misshapen but well-intentioned sweater. It’s the thought that counts. Probably.

Ready to Rock?

Plop down in one of the four new rocking chair variants to chill, knit, nap, or read a book. (Psst: Sims get a bonus to their Knitting Skill while on the rocking chair too!) Sitting in one is quite relaxing for Sims, so uncomfortable, sad, or angry buffs will diminish quicker. Elder Sims also have a new Reminiscence interaction with the rocking chair, giving them a comfy way to explore their mind palace and fondly remember times of fun, while children and toddlers can play on it.

Of course, rocking chairs aren’t the only things that rock in this pack. Did somebody mention a new Metal music station? We did! Sims listening to Metal feel Energized and gain bonuses to Knitting while they listen—so don’t be alarmed if you see your Sim jamming on an air guitar.

Welcome to Plopsy

The more you knit, the more you can earn on Plopsy, the new online crafting marketplace where you can sell everything from socks and sweaters to paintings and woodworking projects. Once you’ve crafted an object, it costs a small fee to list it on Plopsy, but your item remains listed for several days, and you can easily track potential buyer interest during that time. As a bonus, Plopsy offers a higher payout than selling things the old-fashioned way.

Now, if your Sim is more of a shopper than a crafter, you can also use Plopsy to buy unique goods! Plopsy rotates in random crafted items throughout the day, so all your Sims have a chance to get some cool stuff (including the new knitted clothing!).

Many of you have been with us since the start of the development process. You helped choose the theme, art style, objects, Create-A-Sim assets, and even the title and icon for the pack, so this is as much yours as it is ours. We’ve been excited to share a series of deep-dive posts over on the Forums as well, giving you a peek into the design and development process. If you missed any of them in real time, have no fear: you can read them all now to get the details you’re craving.

Learn more about The Sims 4 Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack before its release on July 28 with in-depth looks at the knitting gameplay feature, new hairs for your Sims, unlocking knitted clothing, the new online marketplace Plopsy, details about the rocking chair gameplay feature, and even the new stereo stations. If you wanted to learn how concept art becomes an object, Art Director Mike O’Connor even has you covered on that front.

It’s been such a joy to craft this project with you, and we can’t wait to see what you and your Sims knit up in-game. It’s almost time to grab your needles and yarn—just two more weeks until you can start dressing your Sims in their own creations!

Share your knitting project plans with your fellow players on The Sims Forums; catch up with us on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok; like us on Facebook; and subscribe to our YouTube channel. You can also sign up for The Sims 4 newsletter to get all the news as soon as it’s announced!

MAC X THE SIMS BRINGS 12 NEW MAKEUP LOOKS TO THE SIMS 4
Express yourself, be creative, and stretch your imagination with this MAC x The Sims collaboration!

Our latest free base game update* in The Sims™ 4 highlights new Sims makeup looks from an iconic brand that shares our values of self-expression and representation for all. Now more than ever, it’s important for us to partner with brands like M·A·C whose inclusive ethos mirrors our own. We worked to develop twelve stunning new looks with the help of M·A·C Director of Makeup Artistry Romero Jennings. If you haven’t already, start experimenting with M·A·C Cosmetics makeup in The Sims 4 today! Find out how to go glam ahead so you can play with style—and play with life.

Find M·A·C in CAS
Brighten your Sim’s life with colorful makeup. From electrifying eye shadow splatters to two-toned lipstick, explore twelve Sim-sational new looks. The new styles include four eye shadows, two eyeliners, two blushes, and four lipsticks in a multitude of M·A·C-inspired hues. To give your Sim a M·A·C-over, simply go into the makeup category in Create-A-Sim mode. Each look will have the M·A·C logo on it, but to see all of them at once, you can also simply filter by Style —> M·A·C Cosmetics. Ta-da!

Why M·A·C?
Makeup gives people (and Sims) the opportunity to express themselves and be creative. It can transform you into whoever you want to be, or give you the freedom to try something new. Whoever you are—whether you use makeup as a tool for your art or a way to connect with your truth—it inspires playfulness and experimentation. So why not give your Sims the same options?

“We found that our brand identities meshed really well together, and that was reflected in our partnership. It was an absolute joy to collaborate with Romero and the M·A·C team, and for us to figure out how we can best represent M·A·C's aesthetic within The Sims,” says producer Dana Peterson (aka SimGuruDana), who was the lead on the Maxis side of the project. “I'm so excited to share these fantastic looks with our players and see the Sims they create!”

Romero and the Maxis team developed twelve unique makeup styles for The Sims 4, including a futuristic disc liner look and vivid eye shadow splatter. “I love the art of makeup and allowing myself to self-inspire as I choose colors to mix and customize looks,” Romero said. “There is an emotional connection that occurs once makeup is involved.”

That connection is one of the reasons The Sims and M·A·C first expressed interest in collaborating with each other. “M·A·C and The Sims both empower our communities to be themselves and express themselves however they wish,” Romero pointed out. “M·A·C’s product portfolio and brand ethos is based off of All Ages, All Races, All Genders, and encourages powerful use of your imagination. Self-expression in makeup is huge, and customization through The Sims is just as major.”

See what else Romero has to say ahead!

What inspired you to partner up with The Sims?
“M·A·C is a welcoming home for everyone, and the world of The Sims is just the same. Up until now, The Sims 4 has never partnered with a makeup brand in-game, so it’s an honor for M·A·C to be the very first. When the idea was born, it was kind of perfect for both of our brands!

“We know The Sims players love creating makeup looks, and M·A·C consumers love entering fantastical worlds where they can express themselves. It was a no-brainer! Just as Sims players can create their Sim to fit their mood or suit their personality, we look at makeup the same way. It’s a creative forum that everyone can be a part of, and we are ecstatic to join forces in this way.”

How did you come up with the makeup looks for The Sims?
“As an artist, my inspiration can come from pop culture, street style, fashion week, social media, international travels, nature… just about everything! The looks for The Sims 4 were no different. With the help of our amazing friends on The Sims team, we were able to develop these new looks that you have never seen in-game before.

“It was so exciting to create twelve designs from scratch with focuses that span across natural wearable makeup, desirable trends, bold and vibrant looks, playful exotic designs, looks for the risk-takers, and of course the iconic, timeless beauty that M·A·C is known for. Looks are divided between eyeliner, eye shadow, lips, and cheeks. With each look, players can choose from a variety of colors and, ultimately, mix and match the designs to create their favorite look. There are millions of look possibilities and I can’t wait to see yours!”

How often do you play The Sims?
“Admittedly, I hadn’t played The Sims before I began working on this project, but I of course had known about the game. Confident to say, I am now hooked! I enjoy living and gardening in The Sims world. It’s like I am now trying to catch up on all the years that I missed out on playing The Sims.”

What’s your favorite thing about The Sims?
“I love the incredible variety of options that The Sims provides, from creating your look to interacting in The Sims world. After my experience with the Maxis team, I have such admiration for the way the game and features are created, developed, and brought to life. Everything is so thought out and it’s very visible in the execution of The Sims.”

What advice (about makeup or life, or both!) would you give to players of The Sims?
“My advice would be to play, create, and discover. I see how young children dream and constantly create, which keeps them inspired and gives them the ability to grow. I think many people lose that as they grow up. It’s easy to get stuck in your ways, but I find it so important to keep challenging yourself and continue to make use of your creative outlet. Sims can do that. Makeup can do that. It has the power to transform your look, mood, and confidence.”

Happy Pride Month, Simmers!

Now more than ever, it’s important to remember that while Pride is a time for celebration, it’s also a moment for reflection and solidarity. All of us are facing difficult, emotional challenges in real life right now. Celebrating Pride might feel complicated as people face the systemic oppression of the Black community head-on and brave the isolation of COVID-19. But none of us are alone.

This month, and every month, it is critical to support equality on all levels. The Sims™ is committed to creating the world as it should be, one that is kinder, more connected, and built on representation and freedom of expression. We believe diverse and inclusive worlds are better worlds, both virtual and real. Our community is full of wonderful, beautiful people from all over the planet, and The Sims 4 should reflect that—we wouldn’t have it any other way. We constantly and consciously strive to improve on that front. The Sims is a safe space for experimenting with your identity, relationships, and interests. We want this game to empower you to express yourself, explore the possibilities, and continue to play with life. The Sims team is proud to celebrate our LGBTQ+ community.

It looks a little different this year, but it’s still important to keep the spirit of Pride alive. We’ll come together, both in The Sims 4 and out. This year, we’re inviting you to join us for the first virtual Sims Pride. From a Pride-themed plumbob to use as your icon to live streams with some of your fellow LGBTQ+ Simmers, we’ll be highlighting the LGBTQ+ Sims community on our channels. Tune in to support your fellow players.

Starting on June 15, we’ll be kicking off our Virtual Pride Parade. Submit your best Sims Pride looks via social media and on The Gallery using #SimsPride2020 for a chance to be featured in The Sims Pride Celebration Event and group photo at the end of the month.* Dress your Sims up in their best Pride regalia, experiment with the new M·A·C makeup looks**, and get ready to sashay down the runway. You have until June 29 to upload your Sims. On June 30, YouTuber EnglishSimmer will be hosting the Virtual Pride Parade live stream on The Sims Twitch channel to showcase our amazing Sims.

We want you to show your full expression of self. Be you. Embrace your fabulousness. Honor our history; honor each other. Whoever and however you love, whoever you are—whether you’re a woman, a man, neither, or both—be proud. Play with life. Play with love.
Share your Sims Pride looks and feelings with your fellow players on The Sims Forums (and don’t forget to use #SimsPride2020!). Follow along with our virtual pride on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok; like us on Facebook; and subscribe to our YouTube channel. You can also sign up for The Sims 4 newsletter to get all the news as soon as it’s announced.

*No Custom Content will be included in Sims chosen from The Gallery.

**Requires The Sims 4 game (sold separately) and all game updates to play.

It’s move-in day in Evergreen Harbor—The Sims™ 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack* is now available on PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation®4! Your Sim’s impact on their world is visible and tangible. You have the influence and power to really make a difference. So, how will you play to change? Find out before you start playing when you take our eco lifestyle quiz!

Even the smallest choices can have a huge impact. If and how you choose to get involved matters, but it’s not just about power sources or Neighborhood Action Plans. It’s about how you engage with other Sims. It’s about how you come together to accomplish something. In your Sims community, you decide what role to take on—the eco-minded activist, the creative maker, the mischievous Sim playing in the trash… you can be whoever you want and make the world to match. You just might need a little help to get there.

That’s where your neighbors come in. Whether they’re complaining about the state of the neighborhood, offering you some of their spare materials, or just stopping by to help take out the trash, you’re less alone in this than you think. Share knowledge, projects, and laughs with the Sims around you. (And if they annoy you, well, feel free to vote for Roughhousing Encouraged at the voting board so you can start a fight whenever you want.)

Give yourself permission to inspire others and make changes, in and out of the game. And as you consider your options in The Sims, think about what you yourself can do for your world, too—the real one. Why limit your impact to Evergreen Harbor or Willow Creek?

Get The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack today for Mac, PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4!

Share your exciting eco projects with your fellow players on The Sims Forums; catch up with us on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok; like us on Facebook; and subscribe to our YouTube channel. You can also sign up for The Sims 4 newsletter to get all the news as soon as it’s announced!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nestled up against a quarry by the water, Evergreen Harbor has a long history of natural beauty marred by pollution. Over the years, it has become… well, not so green at all. Smog and dirty air cloud the skies, junk has accumulated in empty lots, and trash litters the docks of the harbor—it’s maybe not the best fishing environment. But in The Sims™ 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack*, it’s up to your Sims to return it to its former glory! (Or they can just party it up in filthy style. We won’t judge!)

Move It, Move It
Sims arriving in Evergreen Harbor have their choice of three different neighborhoods. The community of Grims Quarry is best off, environmentally speaking, though grimy and cluttered with waste. Still, its clean air accentuates its appeal when compared to the middling Conifer Station and rundown Port Promise. Once Sims start making an effort, though, each of these neighborhoods transforms. Go all-in on the industrial-chic aesthetic by turning an old shipping container lot into your new home in Port Promise, or take a leisurely stroll atop of the old train station’s parkway in Conifer Station when Evergreen Harbor finally lives up to its name.

Sims also reap the rewards of living either the green or industrial lifestyle even beyond Evergreen Harbor. Check your impact in almost any neighborhood or world of your choosing—excluding Strangerville and Destination Worlds—or pause the eco-footprint effects from the game options menu. You decide where and when it matters to you.

Hit the Dump(ster)
Need a TV, a table, or even a mattress? Check the dumpster! A lot of the things you find in the trash aren’t junk at all. That first-generation TV is a nostalgic but functional throwback! Sure, the mattress might have a coffee stain and a tear or two, but you can fix it up—or just use it as-is. And that singed oven is perfectly fine after you wipe it down. There’s no reason to buy new when you can basically furnish your house without spending a single Simoleon. Just make sure the dumpster’s not already occupied by any other Sims getting frisky…. You’ve been warned.

Waste Not, Want Not!
So, your Sim just bought a new couch and needs to get rid of the old one. You can sell it, of course, but why not turn it into something new? With the Recycler, you can break that old couch down into reusable components for your next invention. To get the rest of the materials, keep an eye out for Bits & Pieces while you’re scrounging around in the dumpster. Once you’ve collected enough, you can create your own items in the amazing new Fabricator!

You Have the Power
What power? The power of sustainable resources! Who do? You do! From wind turbines to solar panels, generate your own electricity at home. Whether you place them on your roof or in your yard, they offset your bills and take you off the grid—literally, they expand off-the-grid functionality. Sims might choose to gather their own water with a dew collector too. Who needs infrastructure now? Of course, you could always go for a traditional power generator if green energy isn’t your thing.

Work Hard, Play Hard
Explore two new careers in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle. As a Civil Designer, it’s your job to fix this town up—with help, of course. Once you get your Eco Inventions up and running, your neighbors are sure to take notice. On the other hand, if you’re more of a creative soul, why not turn a profit on the stuff you’re making? Perhaps you’re a Fizzy Juicer, a furniture maker, or a candlemaker. Once you’ve gathered your resources, like ingredients or repurposed dyes, you can get to work and fill orders through the computer as a Freelance Crafter! You can also sell your goods with an Entrepreneur's Table at the Community Space on your own time

Come Together
Every week, you and your neighbors can vote on a Neighborhood Action Plan like funding Green Initiatives, supporting Self-Sufficiency, or encouraging Free Love. You can also designate a purpose for the Community Space. Transform it into a shared garden, a maker space, or a marketplace for everyone to enjoy. You get to build it in nearly any world in The Sims 4! Bring Sims together around vertical gardens and hydroponic planters in Brindleton Bay; learn from other craftspeople in the workshop of Willow Creek; or sell your goods and peruse other offerings at the market in Evergreen Harbor. It’s up to you—and your neighbors. Don’t forget to convince them to vote your way!

Bug Out
Bees aren’t the queen bees in The Sims 4 anymore (though they do produce wax!). The new Insect Farm introduces a plethora of bugs. While toddlers and children can play with grubs and crickets, bombardier beetles provide biofuel for the power generator. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, treat your Sims to a healthy, crunchy, protein-filled meal. Just don’t let them smile at anyone afterward or they might see beetle legs stuck in their teeth. Gross.

Preorder The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack today for Mac, PC, and Xbox One! You can start building your sustainable future on June 5, 2020, on those platforms and PlayStation®4, too!

Start thinking about your new eco projects with your fellow players on The Sims Forums; catch up with us on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok; like us on Facebook; and subscribe to our YouTube channel. You can also sign up for The Sims 4 newsletter to get all the news as soon as it’s announced.

The Sims™ 4 Eco Lifestyle: Official Reveal Trailer

Welcome to Evergreen Harbor, the sustainable city of your dreams! Join your fellow collaborative makers and sustainability activists in The Sims™ 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack*, coming to PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation®4 on June 5, 2020! How will you play to change?

Change the World
In Evergreen Harbor, every action you take and decision you make influences the state of the world around you. The cleaner Evergreen Harbor gets, the more you’ll see nature thriving. You determine whether the skies are smoggy or clear enough to see the aurora borealis glimmering above. Let garbage pile up on the streets of your neighborhood or clean it up to create lush green walking paths in town. It’s up to you!

Upgrade Your Home
New updates in Build/Buy encourage going green, too. For the first time, you can offset your bills with wind turbines, solar panels, and dew collectors. Reduce your eco footprint and invest in a living rooftop for a splash of bright color. Inside, choose between gorgeous new furniture (sustainably made, of course) or upcycle someone else’s junk into beautiful items!

Make or Break It
Speaking of reclaiming and repurposing things, why don’t you check out a new job as a maker? As you go around town, keep an eye out for collectibles and materials for your next project. Brave Sims might try dumpster diving for resources like dyes, bits and pieces, and ingredients—as long as they don’t mind the smell. Choose the Freelance Crafter career to fill mail and internet orders for your candles, fizzy juices, upcycled objects, and more! Or try to encourage your neighbors to vote for a community maker space where you can all craft together.

Use Your Voice
Unused community spaces are going to waste—literally, as a dump. Rally your neighbors to decide how to use it. To get that maker space, you’re going to need support. Want a shared planting space with vertical gardens instead? Vote for it! Every week, you can join your new community in voting for a Neighborhood Action Plan. Transform the shared lot, promote the performing arts, suggest a weekly workout, demand an upcycling initiative, or explore the many other options on the board. Just know that you could end up wearing a paper bag on your head if things go sideways….

Whatever you do in Evergreen Harbor, know that you are changing the world.

Available June 5, 2020, on PC/Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation®4.
